Lobby cards measure 14 inches wide by 11 inches high. They are printed on card stock. The weight of the stock varies, with older films usually of heavier stock. Lobby cards usually come in sets of eight cards. Occasionally, there are nine cards in a set (particularly Disney sets), but sets vary from four to as many as twenty-four cards in a set. Many sets contain a title card plus seven scene cards. Title cards vary from simple printing of the title and cast to an image similar to the half sheet poster. Presently lobby cards are rarely issued in the US, so most cards related to newer releases come from the United Kingdom or other non-US locations. Lobby cards frequently depict scenes of some of the major actors like Bogart, Monroe, Howard, but they can also be known as "dead cards" where only minor characters are visible. Dead cards are usually worth less than those which show the main characteres.
